If you overuse or exploit your voice you can trigger big problems. Laryngitis, a hoarse voice, and other singing problems will be the effect of straining your vocal chords.
Why does this occur? The vocal folds resonate whenever you sing. They also vibrate when you talk. Thus, they are almost constantly in use.
To mend, the vocal folds must not hit against every single. This means leftover silent – no singing, no talking.
There are best techniques to sing that help you stay away from vocal problems. There are also indications that your voice is in trouble.
To prevent deterioration:
*Warm up your vocal chords before every practice and performance.
*Practice using right singing techniques and tend not to overstress your vocal chords.
*Do not over – practice.
*Use proper vocal techniques. Be sure that your mouth is wide open.
Oddly, a frequent cause of vocal problems in singers doesn’t come from singing. The deterioration can occur speaking incorrectly.
Everyone has an optimal pitch for speaking. When you do not use this pitch you can wreck your vocal chords.
This is especially a problem for female singers. A soprano’s speaking pitch can be low – C/D below middle C. Due to the fact that they are speaking so low it is causing a discrepancy with their singing.
This can interfere with singing up high. To solve the problem the soprano will need to learn to improve her speaking pitch.
You should find your communicating pitch and use it whenever you talk. If you have a hoarse voice or a brassy voice you are similar of speaking too low. Using the right pitch gives you a crisp voice.
To find your speaking pitch hum up your range until your voice is clear. This stage is very close to your communicating pitch.
Regardless of the reason for your deteriorating voice – laryngitis, speaking off pitch, poor technique, TMJ, the problem must be repaired.
